Two tone milgrain rings are the modern choice for wedding bands

If you didn’t buy your wedding band at the same time as you purchased your engagement ring, there’s going to come a time when you have to go back to the jewelry store and select a wedding band. Ideally, not only will your wedding band compliment your engagement ring for times when you are wearing them together, but it will be beautiful on its own for those times when you just want to wear your wedding band. Even if right now, you’re thinking that you’re never not going to wear your engagement ring, you’ll be surprised how that will change once you have a wedding band and can choose to not always wear a large diamond and make yourself a potential target, especially if you live in a large city and like to walk around on your own.

A great choice for a simple but elegant wedding ring that will go with almost any engagement ring you might have is a two tone milgrain ring. Whether you already have a two tone engagement ring, or if your engagement ring is only comprised of one metal, you can easily pull off a wedding ring that contains not only the metal that is part of your engagement ring, but also a different color metal, as well, which will compliment your ring and give a wonderful modern look to your wedding band. For example, if you have an engagement ring with a yellow gold band, you can pair it with a wedding band that has circles of both yellow gold and white gold. The yellow gold will blend well with your engagement ring, and the white gold will help your wedding ring stand out a bit more as its own ring so it doesn’t just blend into your engagement ring. After all, if you’re paying for two rings and you’re wearing two rings, you want it to actually look like you have two rings on your finger. Of course, you want the two rings to compliment each other so they appear that they actually belong together on the same finger at the same time.

And, if you want to add a bit more beauty and some detailing to a simple two tone wedding band, you can have milgrain carved around the outside edges of your wedding ring. Milgrain is something that ring designers can create on the top and bottom of your ring to add some texture. Milgrain looks like extremely small dots all next to each other, outlining your ring. If you’re looking to add a modern and clean, yet very elegant touch to your wedding band, milgrain is a great pattern for your ring. Not only does it look elegant, but it does not distract at all from a traditional, solitaire engagement ring; it will only enhance it.
